    The five-day-2008 IRMMW-THz was held in California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California, U.S.A. from 15th to 19th September, 2008.

    ¡°THz for Life¡±was the theme of this conference which attracted hundreds of THz scientists from the US, the UK, France, Japan, and Russia, etc.. Their discussion covered a wide range of THz and Millimeter wave applications such as astronomy, environmental science, biological medicine, THz imaging and its application, THz source, detector and receiver. The target application in the future, market and direction of THz were also included.

    The director of Expert Committee in China THz R&D network, world-famous IRMMW expert Prof. Shenggang Liu (CAS academician), together with his research team, were invited to participate and an important academic report was also presented by Prof. Liu.
